Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know mental skills training is a good idea?

When thinking about different individual's ability to compete in a sport or perform at their optimal level, the difference that sets the elite apart is their mentality, their confidence, their ability to overcome adversity, etc.  If you want to be one of the best, mental skills training is what is going to set you apart.

Will our sessions be publicized?

In the beginning of each new relationship that Mindy develops with athletes, she does agree to a confidentiality agreement.  In the agreement, it details her assurance that your information will remain private.  For athletes under the age of 18, Mindy does have the athlete and guardian sign the agreement and agrees to keep the guardian updated with anything that is necessary for them to know.  Mindy does speak with individual athletes about the benefits of sharing what they are working on with coaches and parents to help hold them accountable.

Is mental skills training only for athletes?

Absolutely not! While Mindy does have a lot of experience working with athletes, mental skills training can help anyone who feels that they need some additional training to perform.  This can include but not limited to singers, public speakers, actors, weight loss clients, etc.  Learning various mental skills to help you succeed in your day-to-day life is beneficial for everyone!

Is Mindy a licensed therapist?

No, Mindy is not a licensed therapist.  However, she does have her Master's degree in Kinesiology with a concentration of Sport and Exercise Psychology.  She has worked with a wide variety of athletes from youth sport participants to weight loss patients to at-risk youth to Division I collegiate athletes.  If there ever is something in a session where Mindy feels that she is not competent in working with an athlete, she will gladly refer him or her to a licensed therapist who would be better equipped to help.
